In case you haven't been paying attention (or have lost count), the population of our planet just surpassed 7 billion people.
What isn't growing at the same pace is the fuel to keep all 7 billion of us going. The food we eat, the water we drink and the energy we use for just about everything, are being put under immense strain.
Resource scarcity isn't the spectre of a problem that we'll have to tackle in the distant future. It's something being faced by people all over the world right now, and unless someone does something it's only going to get worse.
Fortunately, someone is.
In July this year, the wheels were set in motion to tackle the issue of resource scarcity head on. The world's brightest and most influential minds were called upon from a diverse range of disciplines. Congregating at Oxford University, their aim was to address the issues from a completely new perspective. And to produce effective, workable answers for some of the biggest questions facing the human race.
We were incredibly excited to be asked to create the name and identity for this momentous event. We recognised immediately that it needed something powerful and different. Something that could match the gravitas of the attendees with the spirit of what they were trying to achieve.
It was a great source of pride to see our work providing the setting for such protagonists as Bill Clinton, Sir David Attenborough, Sir Terry Leahy and David Miliband.
