It’s an old cultural stereotype that Chinese firms don’t innovate. An easy accusation for the uninitiated to level from afar. Perhaps it rang true in the past. But take a closer look and there’s innovation everywhere. Nowhere more so than the in the mobile and tech sectors, where there is huge freedom and opportunity for exponential growth. venturethree are lucky enough to be working with Seasun, China’s biggest games business, one of the rising stars leading the charge.

There’s a new generation of Chinese company that is brand conscious and global in ambition and outlook. These firms are fusing modern global management methods with strong company cultures founded on thousands of years of Chinese philosophy.

Our first trip to visit Seasun in Zhuhai opened our eyes to the enormous potential of modern Chinese creativity, of the vast domestic market and of the unique perspective that comes from being a market leader born and raised in China.

We flew out to meet the exec team and explore their ambitions for the future, their plans for the brand and to understand what’s powering them forward and what could be holding them back. Everything we saw and heard exceeded our expectations (which were already high). We were hyped to be working with China’s awesome new games company.

Individuals choose the teams they want to work with and the projects they want to shape. They take siestas whenever they want. It’s up to them to create their own success and work in their own way. Many of those who leave go on to be successful entrepreneurs in their own right.
