It's a challenging time for the newspaper industry. With instant news available to us all on our smartphones, tablets and laptops 24/7; the top papers know they need to work hard to keep up with the fast-paced digital era.
This summer v3 created the visual identity for Sun+, the Sun's new digital offer that goes beyond a mere digital version of their editorial - into a far deeper, richer and more rewarding experience. Digital: all the latest news, sport and gossip. Goals: instant live goals, scores and stats all in one place. And Perks: exclusive offers and giveaways for all the family.
We developed the Sun+ master brand logo, keeping it in-tune with the Sun brand, but giving it more depth and perspective to make it feel more dynamic on digital platforms. We then took the '+' idea further, and created 3D pluses to hold imagery, content and messaging.
As well as the visual brand assets, we worked with The Box at News International to create the launch campaign, developing new configurations to deliver different messaging right up to launch day.
We will continue to work with Sun+ over the next few months, and as the digital content evolves - so too will the digital brand.
